The Most Foundational Piece: Visibility

The first thing I want to talk about is visibility, and I want to lead with this because for most people, if they were to really focus here, it would solve a huge portion of the sales problems they're experiencing in their business. Here's the simple truth: it doesn't matter how incredible your content is, how well you can convert, or how dialed in your offer is, if nobody knows you exist then none of that matters. Visibility is the leverage that makes everything else work.

When I talk about getting visible, I mean whatever method makes sense for your business, whether that's Instagram, TikTok, your newsletter, or even cold outreach, the point is that you are consistently getting in front of your dream clients and sharing your message about the transformation you can create in their lives. You need to be out there relentlessly speaking to the impact you provide, the problems you solve, and the results people experience when they work with you.

Now I know that visibility can feel like a really sticky topic for a lot of people, and I get it, because self promotion feels vulnerable and scary and if you put yourself out there and nobody responds it genuinely doesn't feel good. But here's what I want you to remember: if you started your business and you want to hit these income goals, you have to honor your full potential and be accountable to it, which means becoming relentless about showing up. You are on a mission, and you will not let the reason it doesn't happen be simply that you didn't create enough content.

My 10% Strategy for Increasing Visibility

This is a strategy I use in my own business and I'm actively using it right now, so let me walk you through it. Get out a notebook and write down every single thing you are currently doing to create visibility, every platform, every type of content, every action you take to get in front of your audience. Once you can see it all on the page, I want you to think about what it would look like to increase your efforts by just 10%, and I am not talking about an analytical, calculated 10%. I mean energetically, what would just a little bit more feel like? Maybe you're posting once every other week and 10% more feels like three times a month. You get to decide what that looks like for you.

That is your week one plan. And then each week after that, you increase by another 10%, for a minimum of six weeks and ideally closer to two to three months, because visibility strategies just take time and you are not going to see an immediate result and that is completely normal. In those first few weeks you should honestly feel like you're holding back a little, like you could do more but you're choosing not to, because that feeling is exactly how you know the plan is sustainable for you.

You can use this strategy in two ways. The first is to gradually ramp up to a level of output that you can sustain long term. The second is to ramp up to a level that isn't sustainable forever but that you use intentionally for a set period of time to really boost your visibility, and then you gradually come back down to your sustainable baseline. I do both depending on what's going on in my business, and right now I'm in the second mode where I'm posting multiple times a day on TikTok, constantly showing up on stories, sending newsletters, and putting out podcast episodes, because I have a window of time before my next Lucky Day round where I want to really ramp things up.

One thing I want to prepare you for: every single time I have ramped up my output, my analytics and engagement dip at first. Don't panic and do not even look at your numbers during this phase. Give your audience and the algorithm time to adjust, stick to the plan, and keep posting because the engagement will follow if you push through that initial dip. And give yourself some grace with content quality during this period too, because getting the reps in and increasing your output is itself a form of quality, and the more content you create the better you are going to get at it over time.

The Three Types of Content You Should Be Creating

When you're thinking about what to actually post, here are the three types of content that will do the most work for you as an online service provider. The first is solution-oriented content, meaning you are showing your ideal client how you solve their specific problems and alleviate their pain points. The second is desire-based content, where you speak to how your ideal client wants to feel in their business, what they want to accomplish, and how you help them get there. And the third is trust-building content, because trust is ultimately what converts an audience into buyers and it takes time and consistency to build it.

If you want to go deep on creating content that your dream clients actually fall in love with, that is exactly what my program Infatuated is all about and you can check it out at the link in the show notes.

Who You Are For and Who You Are Not For

The second big piece of hitting $5K months sustainably is getting really clear on exactly who you are serving and speaking to that person specifically in everything you create. I see so many people get stuck around the $3K mark and feel like they're doing all the right things but just can't seem to break through, and a huge part of the reason is that their messaging is too broad and vague, trying to speak to everyone, and as a result it resonates with no one.

Here's what I want you to do. Before you create any piece of content, pause and ask yourself who your ideal client avatar is, that one specific dream person you are here to serve, and then create that piece of content for her and only her. The more specifically you speak to one person, the more that person feels seen and the more likely she is to stop scrolling, pay attention, and eventually reach out to work with you.

To make this really practical, sit down with each of your offers or services and ask yourself what solutions you are actually providing and how your dream client would describe the impact of working with you. Write all of it down. Then when you sit down to create content, just pick one thing from that list and talk about it. Because when your content is rooted in your actual services and the real transformation you provide, speaking directly to your dream client becomes effortless, and positioning yourself as the solution happens naturally without you ever having to say "a VA can help with that" or "a project manager would be great for this." You just say, I will help you with this, I will do this for you, because it is all tied back to what you actually offer.

The Energetic Side of Revenue

And now I want to talk about something that might sound a little different from the practical stuff, but I genuinely believe it is just as important, and that is the energetic state you are in as you are building toward these income goals. When I look back at the times in my business where I was making the most money, I was genuinely so happy, so excited about the work I was doing and who I was doing it with. And I think a lot of the time the reason we want to hit certain revenue milestones is because we believe they are going to make us feel a certain way, more joyful, more content, more at ease.

So my question for you is: how can you start experiencing that feeling right now, before the $5K month happens? Because when you learn to release the urgency and the desperation around needing the sales and instead show up from a place of genuine alignment and happiness, you become magnetic. You attract the right people, the right opportunities, the right ideas, because you are in the state that actually generates momentum rather than repelling it.

I had to do a lot of work on my own relationship with money to get to this place, because for a long time I carried this constant weight of stress and anxiety around it, feeling like I had to generate revenue or something terrible would happen. And what I eventually realized is that the stress itself was not helping me, it was actually working against me, because when I was in that state I couldn't think clearly, I had no creative energy, I couldn't innovate. When I released it and chose to show up from a place of trust and authenticity instead, everything shifted.

After you listen to this episode, I want you to ask yourself how you can lean more into joy and contentment in your business right now, and I want you to find three specific, tangible ways to do it. Maybe it's raising your prices to what you actually want to charge. Maybe it's refining your service suite and letting go of the things you don't love offering. Whatever it looks like for you, start there, because that shift alone will create more momentum toward your $5K months than almost anything else.
